DAKOgamay is an experimental platform established by siblings Martha Atienza and Jake Atienza. We create work responding to our interest in social, economic and environmental issues.

The need to respond to the on-going destruction of Bantayan Island, our home, has been a common thread in our work since 2010.

The Bisayan words dako and gamay suggests the contradiction of many co-existing realities. In English, dako gamay translates to big and small, reflecting the scope of our issues, projects and ideas, but also our Dutch and Filipino background.
